Longwood House

At MyBuild Construction Ltd, we take pride in our ability to create stunning and functional spaces that truly enhance our clients' homes. One such project that exemplifies our craftsmanship and attention to detail is a recent large open plan kitchen extension with a traditional design.
To ensure maximum comfort throughout the space, we installed underfloor heating beneath a beautiful stone floor tile. This not only adds a touch of elegance but also ensures that the kitchen is warm and inviting, even during the coldest months of the year.
Our team at MyBuild Construction understands the importance of seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor living spaces. That's why we incorporated origin windows into the design. These windows effortlessly allow natural light to flood the kitchen area while providing a seamless transition to the garden outside.
A significant feature of this kitchen extension is the large steel origin internal door that separates the open plan kitchen from the entrance hall and cloakroom. This door not only adds architectural interest but also provides privacy and helps to define separate zones within the home.
To construct this extension, we predominantly used steel framing, which we fabricated on-site. This allowed us to create a sturdy and durable structure that can withstand the test of time. Additionally, the roof of the extension features a large, long rooflight made by Roofmaker, which we managed and sourced. This rooflight floods the kitchen with beautiful natural light, creating a bright and airy atmosphere.
Externally, the extension boasts flat render walls, adding a modern touch to the traditional design. We also incorporated coping stones to provide a refined finishing touch. At MyBuild Construction, we believe that a project is not complete until every aspect of the space is considered. That's why we also carried out the landscaping works, ensuring that the exterior of the extension perfectly complements the rest of the property.
The finished result of this kitchen extension is a testament to the quality and expertise of MyBuild Construction. We are truly proud of what we have accomplished, and this project serves as a shining example of the beautiful and functional spaces we can create for our clients' homes.

Kingsley Road

Kingsley Road was an old abandoned house in Cotham, Bristol. An architect bought the house and transformed it into a modern home. The house was in very poor condition and needed a new roof and rear wall. The client asked MyBuild Construction to improve the basement by waterproofing and insulating the floors and walls. The results were amazing. This old Georgian house was revived with a sustainable kitchen and lime plastered walls that preserved its original structure. The client, who is Japanese, also wanted a Japanese bath made from slate tiles. MyBuild Construction provided all the necessary materials and subcontractors to finish the project.

North Road

In 2022, MyBuild Construction constructed a new house on North Road in Bishopston. The house was built on the site of an old workshop, which was demolished. The project was challenging because the site was surrounded by other buildings and the foundation had to be laid over an old sewer. To avoid damaging the sewer, the house was designed to be lightweight. A timber frame structure and Render cladding were chosen. The client intended to rent the property to students, so it had to meet all the necessary regulations for a House in Multiple Occupation (HMO). The project was completed in 9 months and came with a 10-year warranty. As part of the construction, MyBuild also installed solar panels and an air source heat pump for renewable energy.

Two Mile Hill

MyBuild Construction was hired by a developer to renovate the old Telebond building in Kingwood in 2021. It took us only 9 months to convert it from a commercial space to residential. The building now has 8 flats and a shared hallway. Our team was responsible for both the design and construction of this project. We added a mansard roof, using a steel frame and timber infill for support. We maximized the available space, creating 4 one-bedroom flats, 3 two-bedroom flats, and 1 three-bedroom flat. The developer achieved their desired Gross Development Value and is now privately renting the properties, earning a good rental income.

Alma Road

MyBuild Construction was hired to construct a new block of flats and convert a house into two additional flats. The project included two 2-bed flats and two 3-bed flats. Space was limited, so we had to carefully consider minimum space standards and building regulations to ensure a smooth project. Due to the flats being rentals, they needed to be well-built on a modest budget. We installed hard-wearing vinyl floors in high-traffic areas and carpets in the bedrooms. The kitchens were designed for freestanding appliances, and we also created a parking area for six cars. The new build section of the project met all building regulations and came with a 10-year warranty. Additionally, we handled the SAP calculations, air test, and EPC.
